Smart and sassy Arizona Winemaker Sam Pillsbury will show off his award winning juice and teach you how to pair any wine with every meal.
Sam Pillsbury currently produces twenty-two, 100% Cochise County, Arizona wines under his Pillsbury Wine Company label at his 100-acre Willcox Bench Vineyard and Winery—mostly Rhone blends. He has won some of the highest scores for any Arizona wines, was named Best Local Winemaker by Phoenix Magazine, Best Arizona Winery by MSN.com/foodandwine,and named “one of the rising stars of the Southwest” by Wine Spectator Magazine. In November of 2017, Sam was named the winemaker of the year by the Scottsdale League of Arts, AZ Culinary Hall of Fame.
Open flame cooking requires finesse and skill, and learning to choose the right ingredient and selecting the right heat source is essential. From a multi-course meal using a single cast iron, to the centuries’ old tradition of Latin American grilling, and split second timing of a wood burning oven, this class is all about FIRE.
